- What is BMC™?

BMC™ is a product developed by AnthroTerra comprising biochar, clays, minerals and organic components. 

When biochar alone is added to the soil, it can take a number of years to absorb minerals, form biochar-mineral complexes and reach it’s full potential.  BMC™ fast tacks this process by loading minerals and nutrients onto the surface of the char, and locking them into biochar-mineral complexes during the sterilisation process. These nutrients and minerals are then available to the plants, but will not be leached out of the soil like conventional chemical fertilisers.

BMC™ is similar to the Terra Preta (wikipedia link)  produced by  Amazonian Indians to improve poor rainforest soils.

BMC™ also contains mycorrhizal fungi (wikipedia link), which helps unlock nutrients from the soil and make them available to the plant roots. (back)
